LIS 6th grader Ray B. shared the software application
Google Sketch Up with 4th and 5th grade students during their morning meeting
on 2/27 and 3/4. Google SketchUp is a 3D modeling program for applications such as architectural,
interior design, civil and mechanical engineering, film, and video game design.
A freeware version, SketchUp Make, and a paid version with additional
functionality, SketchUp Pro, are available.
Ray has been using this program since 3rd grade and has become very
skilled and adept at using what the program has to offer. Every 6th grade student has this program on
their netbooks at L.I.S. Ray gave a
passionate and confident speech about this technology. We ran out of time answering questions from
the students in attendance. He is a very
engaging speaker and I believe we will see him one day working as a successful
architect, designer, or perhaps engineer.
Great Job Ray.
