CJMEA Elementary Honors Band

On  April 12th, 2014, eight students from LIS, along with their director, went to Rahway 7th & 8th Grade Academy in Rahway, NJ to participate in a one-day band festival.
Back row (L to R): Will Y., Kellen C., Mrs. Kershner, Kaitlyn M., Kiran H.
Front row (L to R): Dylan M., Shiamak K., Justin K., Joelle D.
Students were placed in ensembles of up to 100 performers from around Central New Jersey.  Everyone was seated next to a student from another school whom they did not know, and all students worked together to rehearse and put on an amazing concert at the end of the day. What great teamwork!  Our students played in the White Band, the Red Band, and the Blue Band, and this year, Mrs. Kershner was selected to conduct the White Band.  The students and Mrs. Kershner had an amazing experience!  They are looking forward to doing it again in the future. Congratulations to all who participated.
