Essay Contest Winners at LIS

The Old Barracks Museum in Trenton invited all N.J. students in 4th and 5th grade to celebrate George Washington’s birthday through an essay contest.  There were over 200 entries across the state.

Five students from Mrs. Annese's fourth grade class were prize winners!

Back row (L to R): Chloe Davis, Samantha Gunton, Megan Simpson
Front row (L to R): Rebecca Maccaroni, Ailish Humphrey

Samantha Gunton won the contest Grand Prize! She will get to eat a slice of birthday cake with George Washington.  Chloe Davis, Ailish Humphrey, and Megan Simpson were semi-finalists, and Rebecca Maccaroni was a finalist. All five of the girls won a free pass to the Old Barracks Museum.

Happy 283rd birthday to George Washington and congratulations to these fine writers!
